My family and I have been traveling and yesterday was… well, phenomenal! We were almost home when a thunderstorm caused delays. After circling the airport too long, the pilot announced we were low on fuel and had to divert to another airport to refuel. Then we sat on the tarmac for four hours because of a maintenance issue. At one point, the pilot came on with more “bad news,” and the whole plane erupted in laughter — like, is this for real? Thankfully, I’d been around someone who is very positive and talks a lot about reframing, so I decided my only job on this trip was to stay positive and view this as an adventure.
By the time we finally got off the plane, our last flight had been canceled. So we rented a vehicle, drove almost four hours and got home around eight in the morning. As I dropped my weary body into bed this morning, I muttered, “I’ve been wearing these clothes for over thirty hours. That’s got to be some kind of record.” My husband mumbled from his side of the bed, “Yeah… that could probably be turned into a book title somehow.”
But anyway, I am thankful to finally be home safe and sound and be able to feel a bit more in control of my life.
